“Fresh From the Studio,” an exhibit by the members of the Lakes Region Pod of the Women’s Caucus for Art, New Hampshire Chapter, will be on display in New Hampton School’s Galletly Gallery from Monday, January 15 – Saturday, February 24, 2024. The public is cordially invited to a reception for the artists on January 18, 5:30 – 7:00 pm.

WCA/NH is the New Hampshire Chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art. It is part of a national organization that promotes the advancement of women in the visual arts through educational programs, networking, and exhibition opportunities.
The Lakes Region Pod of the WCA/NH is a large and active group of artists residing in the vicinity of Meredith, NH. Member Betty Fourney Brown says of her experience in the group: “Members support and encourage each other. Always we are learning, enjoying friendships, and growing as artists.” The group meets once a month to share their new artworks, new processes, and their current inspiration. You do not need to be a member of the WCA to be a member of the Lakes Region pod.
‘Fresh From the Studio’ features the artworks of 17 artists creating in the Lakes Region. These works represent their current ideas and technical skills. Works represented in the exhibit include eco-printed paper, hand-crafted books, paintings in watercolor, oil, and acrylic, fiber sculpture, calligraphy, textiles in the form of traditional and non-traditional quilts, cyanotypes, color photography, ceramics, encaustics, and animation. Artists represented in this exhibit include: Gay Ayers, Betty Fourney Brown, Rhetta Colon, Davida Cook, Robin Cornwell, Eckardt, Lynn Elkinton, Marian Federspiel, Carol Groenke, Anne McMillan, Janet Sanguedolce, Karen Sobin-Jonash, Linn Stilwell, Dayna Talbot, Amy Wilson, Wendy Wilson, and Ann Friedman Xavier.

This exhibit is free and open to the public. The Galletly Gallery is located on the second floor of New Hampton School’s Moore Center. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 11.
