Rising Student Leaders; New Hampton School’s 2023-2024 Student Leadership

Student leaders are essential in the day-to-day support of our community. As student council members, house proctors, honor board members, ambassadors, or other committee members, they have direct responsibilities for many facets of student life at New Hampton School. All student leaders serve as positive role models and exemplify the leadership qualities of respect, approachability, and integrity. Please join us in congratulating the following students on their positions for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Student Council

The Student Council is advised by faculty and led by the Student Body Co-Presidents. With the support of the Class Deans, Student Council members run class meetings and assist with the planning and execution of weekend activities. They lead school meetings, cultivate school pride, and serve as liaisons between students and school administration.
The results of the Student Body and Class President elections were announced on Monday, April 22, following spirited speeches and an all-school vote. The incoming freshmen class will hold their election this fall. Please join us in congratulating the following students.

Student Body and Class Presidents

Student Body Presidents: Taylor Settles ’24 and Brady Bernier ’24
2024 Class Presidents (Rising Seniors): Ava Millerick ’24 and James Thomson ’24
2025 Class Presidents (Rising Juniors): Aniyaha Perez ’25 and Harry Jenkins ’25
2026 Class Presidents (Rising Sophomores): Elyse Ngenda ’26 and Dylan Podergois ’26

The Class of 2027 election will be held in the fall, following the arrival of the freshmen class.

An Eye for Community Spirit

While student body and class leadership offer a great opportunity for role modeling, it also offers an immediate partnership between the students, faculty, and administrators. Many of the student leaders elected supplied ideas to build community spirit and to further foster togetherness. From bridging connections between class years to placing emphasis on belonging—for all members of the community—leading forward in culture building and positivity is a call to action our student leaders are eager to take on.

Thank you to our current student body co-presidents Joe Bourbeau ’23 and Nina Morel ’23 for your support and engagement throughout the year.

Upcoming Leadership Announcements

In addition to the positions shared above, students have the opportunity to explore roles such as Green and White Team Captains (nominations are due by May 8), Honor Board, House Proctors, International Ambassadors, Husky Ambassadors in the Admission Office, SOAR (Student Organization for Alumni Relations), and others each year. The deadlines for many of these positions are shared weekly in school meetings as well as in emails from the Student Life Office. We look forward to learning more about next year’s student leaders in the coming weeks and this fall. More appointments will be shared in May. Way to go, Huskies!
