How to Get Rolling with Rolling Admissions

With the passing of our February 1 admission deadline, the New Hampton School admission team has combed through hundreds of applications and selected those students who they feel are the best fit as members of our student body. However, this date also marks the start of our rolling admission process that allows prospective students the opportunity to apply for fall admission. Because the majority of spots were filled during the first round of applications, both the application and the financial aid processes are very competitive.

So, what do you do if you are interested in applying to New Hampton School but you missed the February 1 deadline?

Step 1: Inquire

Sounds pretty basic, but we don’t know you’re interested until you contact us! By filling out the brief Inquiry Form on our website, we are able to send you more detailed information about our school as well as any specific information about the programs you are interested in. This is also how we set you up to speak with program leaders and/or students that are involved in your favorite activities on campus.

Step 2: Schedule an Interview

While the best way to get a feel for the campus is to visit in person, COVID restrictions have not allowed us to offer on-campus visits during our regular admission cycle. However, as we transition to summer break and students are no longer on campus, we will be able to, once again, host applicants and their families. Both virtual and on-campus visits will include a tour of our beautiful 340-acre campus. In addition to a tour, all applicants will interview via Zoom with a member of the admission team. Prior to scheduling your tour, the admission team encourages you to watch some of our virtual tour videos to get a lay of the land before you arrive!

Step 3: Apply

Applications are due through the SSATB Standard Application Online (SAO) system. To begin the application process, visit the SAO website to create an account. Once you have successfully created an account, the required forms and materials become available in your SAO portal. Remember, the application and financial aid process only gets more competitive as time goes on so if you are interested in applying, best to do it sooner rather than later!

Step 4: Testing

As we consider the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, New Hampton School will not require applicants to submit standardized test scores in the admission process.
For some, standardized testing is a strength, and we will happily welcome any scores that students choose to submit. When a student refrains from sharing their standardized test results, their applications will still be given full and equal consideration.
Students who do not identify English as their first language will be required to submit an English proficiency test such as the TOEFL or online with Duo Lingo.

Decisions:

There are several steps to the application process that we have outlined above. Once all steps are complete, your admission decision will be turned around quickly. Please reach out to the Admission Office with any questions, admission@newhampton.org or call (603) 677-3401.
